Bart Patterson Homes Perspective Piece- “I think that this article hits on three very key points for housing looking good for 2015, but I also think that it missed two additional things that will help. Right now rates are again at a all time low, rates as low as 3.65 can be obtained. We have not seen the raise in the interests rates as originally predicted and that will help many buyers be able to get into the home of their dreams. The second contributing factor to housing being better in 2015 is new construction. During the very lean years 2006-2011, we saw very little new construction, no spec homes nothing that would have really attracted the buyer. In 2014 we saw the start of new requests for building permits and other developments that have been non-existent for years and we ended up with some pretty large increases in building permits in many of our communities. 2015 that trend will continue and we will see even more of an increase as builders and consumers feel more confident in the economy and are willing to work with the ideas of new construction. Great article, but I think he could have made it 5 reasons housing is looking up in 2015.”
